Mission

  • Participate in the migration and set-up of application servers
  • Installation and configuration of the application server environments hosted on Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual environment
  • Adopt, configure and integrate automation in your day to day activity - solution based on Ansible, bash/shell-scripts, Perl
  • Troubleshooting the installed application (servers) using tcpdump, jstack, and other OS and Java based analyzing tools
  • Integrate the moved application-servers into our monitoring systems (Icinga), adopt system-checks
  • Document new enhancements, adopt system-documentation in cooperation with the corresponding key players / application managers

Profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in Middleware activities, with a good knowledge in RedHat Enterprise
  • Experience with installing and configuring middleware layer on a high availability Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual environment
  • Proven history with automation of deployment and configuration on the middleware layer using Ansible
  • Good expertise in preparing the deployment and configuration of Java Based Applications on Application Servers / Webserver (we are currently using JBoss EAP, Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic)
  • Skilled with implementing applications monitoring (we are using Icinga & Nagios)
  • Good knowledge of scripting (Bash/Shell, Python, Perl, Ansible - Automation)
  • Nice to have experience with GitLab CI / CD pipeline
  • Experience in managing applications hosted in large datacenters
  • Previous experience with migration projects is a plus
  • Very good English language skills both speaking and writing is a must; German – nice to have
