Mission

As a Java Developer within the Smart Banking Manager (SBM) team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of a core banking application that supports key business processes such as product ordering, account and card management, and product catalog management. You will play a direct role in delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that support the bank's digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Smart Banking Manager (SBM) application.
• Analyze, understand, and challenge business requirements when necessary.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Solution design
  • Development
  • Testing and quality assurance
  • User acceptance testing
  • Production deployment
• Build Java-based applications for high-volume, low-latency, and mission-critical environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the development team and delivery processes.
• Provide Level 3 production support for live applications.
• Collaborate effectively within an Agile environment and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Technical Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on Java development.
• Strong experience with:
  • Java
  • Spring Framework
  • Spring Boot
  • Hibernate
• Solid understanding of Java programming principles and concepts.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services.
• Knowledge of web services security principles.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of software design patterns (MVC, DAO, Singleton, Factory, Builder, etc.).
• At least 2 years of experience working with relational databases using Spring Data JDBC or similar technologies (Oracle or PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Unit Testing and Integration Testing using JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns and Microservices Architecture.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Knowledge of Docker and OpenShift environments.
• Cloud experience (AWS is considered an advantage).
• Willingness to learn and work with Appian technologies.
