Position Summary
The Automation Engineer will serve as the primary testing authority and strategic lead within the Data Tribe. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and reliability of data flowing through the Data Hub and across the various integrated systems and applications within the tribe's ecosystem.
The successful candidate will need experience in technical testing expertise with a comprehensive understanding of data architecture and automation. They will be tasked with not only guaranteeing that data delivery meets business and technical standards but also with optimizing QA workflows and implementing automation solutions to improve scalability and delivery quality.
Key Responsibilities
Testing Strategy & QA Leadership:
- Act as the primary testing authority for the Data Tribe, defining and driving the end-to-end testing strategy for all data-related projects.
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans covering functional, integration, regression, performance, and UAT.
- Optimize QA processes and workflows to increase test coverage and reduce operational costs and testing time.
- Align testing activities across multiple roles within the tribe to ensure seamless communication and full requirement coverage.
Technical Execution & Data Validation:
- Develop and execute advanced SQL queries to validate complex data migration, transformation (ETL), and loading processes within the Data Hub.
- Perform deep-dive data validation (Source-to-Target) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness across disparate source systems and target applications.
- Analyze data mappings and technical specifications to create detailed, high-coverage test cases.
- Conduct rigorous backend and database testing to ensure data integrity and system stability.
- Build and maintain automation solutions and scripts to reduce manual regression effort and improve operational efficiency.
