About the role
As a Performance Testing Engineer, you will help ensure that our applications deliver excellent performance, scalability, and reliability before reaching production.
You will collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, testers, architects, DevOps Engineers, and Infrastructure Teams to design, execute, and analyze performance tests that validate system behavior under realistic workloads. Your work will contribute directly to improving customer experience, reducing production risks, and supporting high-quality software delivery across multiple business domains.
This role offers the opportunity to work with modern performance engineering practices, enterprise-scale applications, cloud-native technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and observability platforms while continuously developing your technical expertise across different technology stacks.
Performance Test Planning
- Participate in discovery/analysis sessions to understand business objectives and non-functional requirements (NFRs).
- Asses potential performance risks introduced by new features or architectural changes.
- Define appropriate performance testing strategies based on business and technical requirements.
- Design comprehensive Performance Test Plans/Assessment Documents, covering scope, objectives, workload models, success criteria, and execution approaches.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify assumptions, risks, and expected system behavior.
Performance Test Execution
Design, configure, and execute various performance test types including:
- Load Testing
- Stress Testing
- Spike Testing
- Endurance (Soak) Testing
- Scalability (Limit) Testing
- Capacity Testing
- Other test types (when applicable)
Monitor execution progress, validate results, and ensure test integrity throughout the testing lifecycle.
Test Design & Script Development
- Develop reusable and maintainable performance test scripts.
- Design realistic workload models based on production usage patterns and be able to propose proper approaches for load testing the applications.
- Implement parametrization, correlation, dynamic data handling, and reusable components either in new-script or by using existing frameworks.
- Support testing across Web, Mobile, API, and microservice architectures.
- Maintain test assets following coding and documentation standards.
Performance Analysis
Analyze test results to evaluate:
- Response times
- Throughput
- Transaction success rates
- Error rates
- Resource utilization
- Scalability
- System stability
Identify performance bottlenecks and correlate application behavior with infrastructure metrics (from used observability tools) to determine root causes and provide recommendations.
Reporting & Recommendations
- Produce clear technical and executive performance testing reports (following pre-existing templates or from scratch).
- Present findings to technical and non—technical stakeholders.
- Document risks, bottlenecks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide recommendations to improve application performance, scalability, and stability.
- Support development teams during performance optimization activities.
Automation & Continuous Performance Testing
- Contribute to integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Support automated performance test execution using enterprise tools and APIs.
Continuously improve testing processes, standards, and best practices.
