Mission

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a project in the financial services sector. In this role, you will oversee the planning and execution of a data project. You will be responsible for managing the project’s delivery in Porto and coordinating with stakeholders in the headquarters. Key duties include:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Define the project plan for your stream of the repository program, including scope, timeline, milestones, and deliverables. Manage the project lifecycle end-to-end, ensuring that development and implementation stay on schedule and within budget.

  • Team Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary project team consisting of business analysts, developers, and other specialists. Set clear priorities and task assignments in line with the overall program objectives defined by the program management. You will act as a facilitator, removing roadblocks for the team and ensuring efficient collaboration.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for project status to both local team members and global stakeholders. Work closely with stakeholders to align on functional requirements and ensure that business-side expectations are met. Provide regular updates to the central IT/Product team and other business stakeholders on progress, key decisions, and any escalations needed.

  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure project deliverables meet the quality standards and comply with the bank’s data governance and security policies. Coordinate testing and validation phases along with BAs and technical leads. Verify that the solution fulfills the intended business objectives for risk management and regulatory compliance.

Perfil

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record managing IT or data projects in the financial services industry. Experience specifically with data warehouse, master data management, or large-scale repository implementations in banking is desirable.

  • Project Management Skills: Strong skills in project planning, execution, and control. Proficiency in defining project scope, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Familiar with both Agile and traditional project management methodologies; able to work in a hybrid environment (e.g., running Scrum teams while maintaining overall project roadmap).

  • Domain Knowledge: Good understanding of banking sector processes – for example, familiarity with corporate client data, risk reporting, or regulatory compliance requirements will help in aligning the project with business needs.

  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership skills to motivate and guide a project team. Able to coordinate cross-functional teams and foster collaboration. Top-notch communication and presentation abilities are required for reporting to senior management and facilitating discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Management: Experience engaging multiple stakeholders (IT, business units, external vendors, etc.) across different locations. Comfortable working in an international context; ability to bridge potential cultural or language gaps.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field. A specialization or training in project management is advantageous.

  • Sector: Banking / Financial Services – you will be contributing to a major data initiative in the financial industry, helping improve how a bank manages corporate client data for risk and regulatory purposes.

  • Project & Team: This role is part of a new multi-year project in the Data domain. The team is being established in Porto, Portugal, working closely with the bank’s central IT group in an international Agile environment. You’ll collaborate with project managers, developers, and other business analysts in Porto and abroad.

  • Work Model: Full-time position. Hybrid work arrangement is available – primarily working on-site with the possibility of some remote days once you are established in the role.
