Mission

As a Data Center Infrastructure Technician, you will be responsible for driving infrastructure projects as part of client Data Centers. You will work as part of the Core Implementation team and have responsibility on driving several activities across departments.Actively participates in the design and development of processes, including the introduction of new, cost-effective technologies and projects. You will also participate in working groups to solve specific problems.

You independently create project reports and reports from the available internal databases and workflow processes.You ensure compliance with all legal requirements and regulations, as well as the requirements of health and safety Vodafone guidelines for network deployment.

Your responsibilities include:

As Data Center Infrastructure Technician/Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve managing activities related to the functioning of infrastructures in the following areas:

  • Project management – ​​develop, plan and program the execution of projects within the scope of infrastructure and supervise the following aspects:
    • New Data Center rooms and respective infrastructure expansions, e.g., Racks/PODs, HVAC, UPS, Electricity Boards, etc.
    • Engineering projects validation and coordination
    • Budget control and management
    • Gather information and data for economic evaluation of the solutions to be implemented;
    • Ensure the application of legal and Vodafone internal regulations in the areas of your responsibility;
  • Infrastructure Management for Core Implementation projects in the client DataCenters, i.e.
    • Installation and Maintenance of Racks;
    • Installation of servers, switches, firewalls, routers, storage, etc;
    • Installation/Removal of network infrastructure (FO and UTP);
    • Installation/Removal of network connections;
    • Carrying out inventory of assets/liabilities in Data Center and respective registration;
    • Identification of all assets/liabilities installed in the Data Center;
    • Interaction and communication (in person or remotely) in Portuguese and English with technicians and customers;
    • Work requested by Tickets;
    • Accreditation of access and monitoring of technicians and customers at Data Center facilities;

Perfil

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical/Telecommunication Engineering or any related field
  • Minimum experience of 3 years in Data Center implementation and/or operation, in productive and critical environments
  • Practical experience and know-how in project management tools, continuous improvement and failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with environmental protection measures.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office;
  • Basic knowledge in Networking (concepts);
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.);
  • Basic knowledge of Operating Systems (Linux, Unix, MS Windows Server);
  • Knowledge of English (reading, writing and professional conversation);
