Inetum's participation in the TalenTIC Valladolid Awards highlights its commitment to innovation, equal opportunities, and the promotion of female talent in the technology sector, reaffirming its position as a leading company in digital services with a positive social impact.

In a ceremony held at the Aula Triste of the University of Valladolid, the awards of the II Edition of TalenTIC, a joint initiative of UVa and Inetum, were presented. The TalenTIC Awards aim to promote and encourage university research and the dissemination of socially relevant IT solutions within the framework of ICT and for this purpose the University of Valladolid, through the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching Innovation and Digital Transformation, and the company Inetum promote these awards valued at 1,200 €.

In an event that highlighted female talent in the technology field, the rector Antonio Largo emphasized the importance of recognizing the effort and dedication of the new generations, emphasizing the value of all four awardees being women. This recognition symbolizes a significant advancement in a sector historically dominated by men, sending an inspiring message to future generations about the importance of gender diversity in technological innovation.

Mónica Herrero, People's Director at Inetum Iberia Latam, thanked the University of Valladolid for the collaboration in promoting technological talent and highlighted Inetum's commitment to equal opportunities, inclusion, and diversity in the ICT sector. The European digital services company takes pride in supporting initiatives that promote female talent and drive innovation in the digital technology field.

The awards

From among the 36 proposals received (23 corresponding to TFG and 13 corresponding to TFM),  the jury, composed of members from both institutions, awarded the best Bachelor's Thesis (TFG) prize to Miriam Barazón for her innovative project on recovering oligosaccharides from agro-industrial by-products. On the other hand, the best Master's Thesis (TFM) prize went to Marta Fernández for her research on the detection and classification of sleep apnea using deep learning models.

Additionally, for the first time, honorable mentions were awarded in both categories due to the excellent quality of the proposals. Clara Gándara received the honorable mention in the TFG category for her work on abstracting information requirements, while Patricia Baz was honored in the TFM category for her innovative approach to measuring sugar concentration.

In a sector where talent is scarce, Inetum positions itself as a champion of equal opportunities and a promoter of technological talent, contributing to the economic and social development of the regions in which it operates. With initiatives like the digitization of the historical heritage of Castilla y León, Inetum demonstrates its commitment to society and its purpose of generating a positive digital impact.
