Inetum allies with SERES to facilitate the implementation of electronic invoicing, which will be mandatory in 2024.

The agreement seeks to accelerate the digitalization of companies' administrative processes before the "Crea y Crece" (Creates & Grows) Law comes into force in Spain. The new legislation establishes electronic invoicing as the only system that may be used in commercial relations between companies and the self-employed.

Inetum, leading European IT and digital solutions company, and SERES, a specialist in electronic document exchange solutions, have signed a collaboration agreement to accelerate the digitization of the administrative processes of Spanish companies before the entry into force of Law 18/22 on the creation and growth of companies (known as the "Crea y Crece" Law).

The new legislation establishes electronic invoicing as the only system that may be used in commercial relations between companies and the self-employed and is expected to come into force in 1 year from the publication of the regulatory development for companies with a turnover of more than 8 million euros. Those with a lower turnover will have a period of two years.

"This agreement will allow us to offer a complete solution to promote the real digitalization of the Spanish business fabric. Our extensive experience in technological products in this area, together with the experience that SERES provides in electronic invoicing, allows us to offer an agile and efficient solution for companies," explains Ignacio Artiaga, Group VP director of SAP BL at Inetum in Spain and Latam.

Artiaga stresses that this new law, which is part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, "will also bring many benefits for companies. From cost savings to agility for collection, as well as precise control of the same thanks to traceability."

"Electronic invoicing is a key element in the digital transformation of companies and, therefore, of the business fabric. The Business Creation and Growth Act has fostered the climate of trust needed to drive this digitalization," comments Alberto Redondo, CMO of SERES for Iberia and Latam. "At SERES we have more than 30 years of experience in the sector and with this alliance we reinforce our absolute commitment to our clients and to innovation," he adds.
