Gfi, one of France's leading providers of digital solutions and services, inaugurated its FabLab in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon on April 8th, 2019. This workspace dedicated to innovation and customized support for companies in their digital transformation will consolidate the FabLab network initiated by the Group's Innovation Department several years ago.

It is in the heart of the brand new Confluence district that Gfi has chosen to set up this latest FabLab dedicated to digital technology. Like its precursors, this space was not designed as a showroom but as a place for exchanging and sharing ideas. As a true innovation driver for the digital transformation of companies, the aim of the Group's FabLabs is to fully immerse clients in digital innovation. Thus, clients can reflect on their different use cases, discover the technologies that meet their needs, understand their advantages and limitations, and familiarize themselves with those technologies.

Indeed, "At Gfi, we are dedicated to the role of technology in digital transformation. Based on our experience and expertise, we believe that it is essential to understand the scope of technological possibilities in order to imagine the uses that will make the digital applications of tomorrow successful," comments Jean-François Gaudy, Chief Innovation Officer at Gfi.

As in the FabLabs in Paris and Nantes in France, Lisbon in Portugal and Gent in Belgium, it is through an immersive and personalized experience in the form of collaborative workshops that Gfi teams and their clients will be able to transform their ideas into concrete projects in one day. By their side throughout the process, the engineers and doctoral researchers who make up the teams of these FabLabs put all their technological and professional know-how at the service of their ideas.

"Moreover, our solid knowledge of our clients' processes allows us to work with them in a very operational manner on their issues and practices during workshops. In this way, together we are creating real transformation levers through new technologies," adds Isabelle Donato, Director of the FabLab by Gfi in Lyon.

In a historically industrial region, this totally modular and creative workspace is a unique place where Gfi's clients, partners and employees come to work on common innovative projects. For the Gfi entities in the region (with just over 1,300 employees), it represents a real showcase of the Group's know-how by providing a customized solution for companies and by promoting the emergence of innovative and meaningful initiatives for the region.
