Release date :

Inetum, a leading European player in digital services, has secured a new framework agreement with the City of Bruges. The agreement includes the purchase, support for purchasing, and management of both Microsoft licenses (Office, CSP, EA, etc.) and generic software licenses such as VMware, Veeam, CommVault, and Adobe. With a potential total value of €295 million and a maximum duration of six years, this agreement will support a wide range of Flemish cities, municipalities, public welfare centers (OCMWs), and other public institutions in their software management. This reinforces Inetum's commitment to enhancing the digital impact of Flemish public institutions.

After a European procedure, in which Inetum's offer proved to be the most advantageous, the City of Bruges maintains its trust in the IT service company after a successful six-year collaboration. Through the new framework agreement, public institutions can turn to Inetum for flexible access to a wide range of software licenses. These licenses can be purchased as needed or managed through subscriptions, both for servers and end-users, including cloud options. Inetum also offers maintenance for both existing and new licenses, ensuring that public institutions always have up-to-date software without having to take care of its management.

Microsoft solutions form an important part of the offering, but the agreement also includes end-user software, antivirus programs, CAD/GIS tools, and virtualization software. Additionally, Inetum can add new licenses during the contract term, depending on the demand.

City of Bruges as a Procurement Center for Flemish Public Institutions

With this framework agreement, various Flemish public institutions gain access to important software solutions. The City of Bruges acts as a procurement center, allowing local governments in Flanders, such as over 300 cities and municipalities, OCMWs, police zones, welfare associations, and municipal non-profits, to utilize the agreement. Education organized by cities is also included in this agreement.

This new framework agreement confirms the trust of the City of Bruges in our expertise and its satisfaction with our long-term collaboration,” says Jo Leemans, Director Technologies at Inetum in Belgium. “Thanks to our strategic partnership with Microsoft and other leading software suppliers, we can offer Flemish public institutions more efficient digital solutions. We focus on licenses with a large impact, allowing these organizations to concentrate on their core tasks. This contract perfectly aligns with our mission to make digital impact faster, easier and for the good of all."
