Microsoft: licensing news, promotions, and expected price increases

15% discount on Microsoft 365 Copilot extended until April 1, 2025

Considering Microsoft 365 Copilot? Now is the time to act. Until April 1, you can still enjoy a 15% discount. What does the promotion entail?

  • 15% discount on new Microsoft 365 Copilot subscriptions within a 12-month period (starting from 300 licenses).
  • Flexible scaling at the discounted rate throughout the term.
  • Payment options: one-time annual payment or spread monthly payments with a 5% surcharge (also see the monthly billing topic for Microsoft 365 Copilot).

Microsoft Azure VMware Solution - Price Updates

Microsoft has reduced prices for Azure VMware Solution (AVS) for 3-year and 5-year Reserved Instances (RIs) in all regions outside the US:

  • Promotion: 3Y and 5Y RIs now ~60% off PayGo pricing (outside the US).
  • Valid for EA, MCA, and CSP contracts until December 31, 2025.

Additionally:

  • 1Y RIs remain at 43% off PayGo pricing until December 31, 2025 (all regions).
  • Availability of 5Y RIs extended until December 31, 2025 (select SKUs).

Monthly billing for Microsoft 365 Copilot

Since December 1, 2024, you can pay for Microsoft 365 Copilot monthly under an annual contract. This allows for spread payments, though with a 5% surcharge.

Price increases as of April 1, 2025: 

  • From April 1, 2025, there will be a significant price increase for Power BI Pro and Teams Phone variants. This increase is due to years of investments Microsoft has made in these applications.
  • For certain products with monthly billing and annual commitment, a 5% price increase is expected. Details on affected products and pricing will be announced in March 2025. Stay tuned for updates.

Windows 10: end of support from 14/10/2025

Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 10 will officially end on October 14, 2025. After this date, no more security updates will be provided, making the system less secure to use. Users are advised to upgrade to Windows 11, which is designed with improved performance, security, and functionality.

Inetum wins Licensing Framework Agreement from the City of Bruges

We are proud to announce that Inetum has won the Licensing Framework Agreement from the City of Bruges. This recognition, following a European procedure where our offer was deemed the most advantageous, highlights the successful collaboration we have built with our customers over the past six years.

What does this mean for you?
The framework agreement enables us to better serve you with:

  • Support in purchasing licenses for a wide range of software. In addition to professional Microsoft licenses, subscriptions, and solutions, the framework contract also includes end-user software, server software, database software, antivirus software, management software, CAD/GIS software, Adobe products, Endpoint Protection software, management software, and virtualization software (VMware). 
  • Advantageous rates thanks to pre-negotiated terms. For instance, due to a contractual agreement with Microsoft, we can offer special discounts during the first four years. 

Who can benefit?
This framework agreement serves as a purchasing center for:

  • the entire Bruges Group (City of Bruges, Bruges Public Center for Social Welfare, Bruges Local Police, and all associated welfare associations, municipal companies, city education Bruges, city-run non-profits, and autonomous entities). 
  • all local governments and related entities in the Flemish Region, including cities, municipalities, Public Centers for Social Welfare, welfare associations, autonomous care institutions, districts, provinces, and police zones. 
  • specific entities previously eligible under Bruges' framework agreement (e.g., De Lijn, De Watergroep, VRT, ...). 

Duration and benefits
The contract runs for three years, with possible extensions up to six years. Thanks to exclusive allocation to Inetum, participants can benefit from streamlined processes, significant cost savings, and expert support.
