Inetum strengthens leadership with two new strategic appointments in Portugal

Inetum, a global leader in digital services, announces a strategic reinforcement of its leadership team in Portugal with the appointment of José Eduardo Fonseca as Head of Technologies and João Monteiro as Head of Solutions & SAP. These appointments underline Inetum’s commitment to driving innovation and excellence in its service offering and reinforce its position in the national market.

José Eduardo Fonseca is the new Head of Technologies Portugal

With 25 years of experience in management and leadership roles in the technology sector, José Eduardo Fonseca will be responsible for strengthening and expanding the company’s Technologies area, which in 2024 accounted for 52.6% of total revenue in Portugal. His main mission will be to drive technological innovation, optimize the service offering, and accelerate business growth. To achieve this, he will focus strategically on strengthening Inetum’s Managed Services, supporting end-to-end digital transformation, and improving Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Value-Added Reseller (VAR) services.

José Eduardo Fonseca worked at IBM Portugal as Delivery and Sales Director in the Technology Services area for more than two decades and, more recently, served as Director of Kyndryl Portugal and Board Member, leading strategic initiatives in Cloud, Security, Data, and Digital Transformation. He holds a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Instituto Superior Técnico.

João Monteiro is the new Head of Solutions & Head of SAP Portugal

With more than 20 years of experience in consulting and implementing SAP solutions, João Monteiro has built a solid track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and driving digital transformation processes. Throughout his career, he has stood out for his ability to build, manage, and motivate high-performance teams, leading strategic projects for major companies across various sectors.

"I believe my experience will allow us to strengthen our leadership in SAP—where we have the largest concentration of talent and technical expertise in Portugal—and, at the same time, expand our presence in strategic platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft, Outsystems, and ServiceNow. My priority will also be to accelerate innovation and the adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence, both within SAP technologies and across the broader technology ecosystem, reinforcing the company’s role as a strategic transformation partner for our clients," notes João Monteiro.

Throughout his career, João Monteiro stood out as founder and CEO for 10 years of a SAP consulting company. More recently, he held leadership roles at PwC Portugal as Partner and Managing Director of PwC DTC. He began his professional journey in the Portuguese Navy as a Naval Officer, where, among other management functions, he participated in the SAP implementation project for the Ministry of Defense.
