Jacques Pommeraud, CEO of Inetum, and Lluis Salvadó, President of the Port of Barcelona and BCN Port Innovation, have signed this morning at the Port of Barcelona the collaboration agreement by which Inetum becomes one of the leading partners of the new foundation, which seeks to become an accelerator of the transformation process of Barcelona towards a Smart Port.

Inetum, a European leader in digital solutions and services, reinforces with this agreement its commitment to innovation and the transformation of the logistics and port sector, for a transition towards a sustainable energy model. Barcelona Port Innovation is counting on this technological consultancy firm to become the port innovation hub of reference in southern Europe, through a public-private tool, with its own legal personality, agile and flexible, which transcends the Port Authority and serves as an accelerator in the process of Barcelona's transformation towards a Smart Port.

Inetum, Port of Barcelona's technology partner, brings its knowledge and experience to this strategic alliance to support the Port of Barcelona's innovation centre in its mission to change the way the port system interacts, promoting sustainable development through technological levers such as Generative Artificial Intelligence.

In the words of Jacques Pommeraud, CEO of Inetum, "we are delighted to accompany Barcelona Port Innovation in accelerating Barcelona's transformation process towards a Smart Port, consolidating its leadership and being the benchmark in Spain and Europe in innovation, digitisation and sustainability. Being its partners reinforces our commitment and consolidates our relationship with the institution, and will help us to identify and generate opportunities, challenges and real solutions to export to other international port entities".

This agreement promotes innovation and growth in a sector that is becoming increasingly important in the economy and which is particularly important in Catalonia, an area in which Inetum has made a strong commitment in recent years: it has a workforce of 740 professionals and clients in both the public and private sectors. Inetum will also work together with the BCN Port Innovation Foundation to generate an ecosystem that provides the knowledge and collaboration necessary to accelerate this transformation of innovation models that promote sustainability, efficiency and optimisation of logistics and port processes.

Lluís Salvadó, President of the Port of Barcelona, stressed that "innovation must allow us to change the way we are developing our activity: we must continue to increase our efficiency and competitiveness, but we must do so while reducing our impact on the environment. The BCN Port Innovation Foundation is the main tool we have to design and implement solutions to transform port logistics and maritime transport. That is why it is so important for us that a leading company in the digitisation of organisations, such as Inetum, has decided to join our foundation in the category of Partners Leaders".

Present at the event on behalf of Inetum were Jacques Pommeraud, CEO; Manuel García del Valle, General Manager of Iberia Latam; Susana Prado, General Manager of Inetum Catalonia; Josep Aracil, Director of Government and Public Services at Iberia Latam; and Isabel Olaya, director of Transport and Infrastructure; together with Lluís Salvadó, president of the Port of Barcelona and of the BCN Port Innovation Foundation; Catalina Grimalt, Deputy General Manager of Organization and Internal Resources of the Port of Barcelona and General Manager of the BCN Port Innovation Foundation; and Miquel de la Mano, Technical Director of the Foundation, and Miriam Alaminos, Deputy General Manager of Economic and Financial Matters, representing the Board of Trustees.
