Inetum and OVHcloud join forces to provide trusted cloud services

Press release

Release date :

With data protection and sovereignty now at the heart of organisations' increasingly rapid digital transformation, Inetum (formerly Gfi) and OVHcloud have decided to team up to develop secure cloud solutions. From platform provision to migration and service management, these services and solutions allow organisations to benefit from a trusted data infrastructure throughout their value chain. The partnership confirms Inetum's ambitions in the cloud market – a priority of its strategic plan, UPSCALE23.

Accelerating modernisation for regulated sectors through a trusted cloud solution

The cloud market is experiencing rapid growth, driven by the need to modernise information systems, the widespread adoption of teleworking and, more generally, the acceleration of digital uses. While organisations have complex and substantial needs, the challenges of data security and sovereignty are critical factors in all digital transformation programmes that require use of the cloud. Organisations need to be able to rely on a trusted cloud solution to manage their infrastructure, applications, data and services. Inetum, a leading IT consultant in digital services and solutions in Europe, is therefore strengthening its partnerships on the cloud, and is joining forces with OVHcloud, European leader in the field, to develop its global portfolio of solutions based on local infrastructure and services in line with the recommendations of the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI).

The collaboration between these two major players is based on the complementary nature of their technical solutions and commercial approach, as well as their shared ambition to work towards sovereign technological solutions and infrastructure and to provide a trusted service. As Fabrice Sarlat, Group VP and Alliance OVHcloud Manager at Inetum explains: “Faster digitalisation has amplified the demand for data security and, more generally, the challenges related to the sovereignty of services. For many players, the sovereign cloud is a guarantee of security because it helps to ensure compliance with data regulations and allows better control of digital flow. At Inetum, we have made the choice to commit ourselves fully and globally, alongside OVHcloud, to building trusted products and solutions in France and in Europe.”

“We are proud of this partnership with Inetum, which has been using OVHcloud environments for many years and hosts more than 800 clients there. Our priority at OVHcloud is to work diligently on deploying new solutions that meet the highest data protection requirements, on an international scale, for the benefit of users. The development of secure cloud solutions with Inetum across the entire value chain is yet another step towards giving as many people as possible access to a catalogue of sovereign cloud solutions that respect the values of privacy, security, reversibility and transparency that we uphold,” adds Sylvain Rouri, Chief Sales Officer at OVHcloud.

Securing the information systems of local authorities and government operators

All organisations, whether private or public, are affected by the need to achieve greater efficiency, transparency and agility through cloud services, so they can optimise their budget, modernise their IS more quickly, and even speed up their transformation. In this context, data security is a key priority for public institutions, while digital sovereignty is an absolute necessity for operators delivering critical operating services for the French government (operators of vital importance (OVI) and operators of essential services (OES)).

By combining their products and services, Inetum and OVHcloud can provide more than 4,000 communities and public organisations with a cloud that meets ANSSI's SecNumCloud criteria. In this spirit of close collaboration, Inetum was actively involved in the final validation stages of the “Hosted Private Cloud powered by Anthos” secure PaaS service, and as such was able to anticipate and adapt its services to make sure it could be incorporated fast into its catalogue of offers.

With its historical presence and expertise in the public sector in France, both at the level of local communities and of central government departments, Inetum enables these institutions to access the quality and security of the OVHcloud sovereign cloud in the fields of finance, human resources, social action and transport. Inetum will henceforth build solutions for its clients on the trusted OVHcloud cloud using Google Cloud's Anthos technology, compatible with open source software and technology, disconnected and hosted on OVHcloud's infrastructure. The alliance will allow public government departments to step up their digitalisation and benefit from the latest developments in cloud technology.

Hosting new Inetum solutions on OVHcloud

The partnership also aims to offer new solutions and turnkey applications from Inetum hosted on OVHcloud, under the Open Trusted Cloud programme in particular. The aim of this programme is to work together on building an ecosystem of SaaS and PaaS services, hosted in the open, reversible and reliable OVHcloud cloud. These “trusted” solutions are based on common values with respect for companies' freedom and fundamental rights, in particular the right to data protection.

The OVHcloud Open Trusted Cloud therefore offers a shared platform of certified competitive solutions, much like the Inetum solutions already available, such as Keenaï (SIEM). Thanks to this hosting, the Keenaï solution has achieved SecNumCloud qualification, which attests to the highest level of IT security according to ANSSI recommendations for the hosting of sensitive and strategic data in the cloud on French territory. Keenaï is a solution developed by Inetum to supervise IS security.

While corporate IT data are increasingly sensitive and strategic, the value of such data requires availability as well as integrity and confidentiality. In industry, for example, OT (Operational Technology) is used for the operation of industrial sites, which are increasingly digitised but also under threat. This cyber threat increases the need for operational as well as physical security. By displaying all incidents for the SOC (Security Operation Centre), with Keenaï, Inetum provides a concrete and practical solution for the real-time supervision of IT and OT. It allows each infrastructure to get to know the other's activity to bring together IT and OT in terms of their needs, business activities and equipment.

Inetum and OVHcloud will continue down this road to offer more sovereign solutions in the French market and trusted solutions in Europe.

Inetum will be present at the OVHcloud Ecosystem Experience event that brings together innovators at the heart of change in the cloud technology community, and will speak on the topic of “Modernising IT in regulated industries using Anthos”.
