Pajottegem: Inetum Merges and Unifies the IT Systems of Three Municipalities into One Digital Environment

As part of their project to merge into a single municipal entity, Pajottegem, the Belgian municipalities of Galmaarden, Gooik and Herne undertook a major digital transformation, unifying their IT infrastructures into one. The aim of this project was to make collaboration efficient and compatible with the new administrative structure. To achieve this, Pajottegem turned to Inetum.

In response to this technical challenge, Inetum proposed to centralize infrastructures and modernize tools. The solution consisted in creating a new Microsoft 365 tenant, grouping all users and data under a single entity, and deploying a hybrid infrastructure combining local servers and the rCloud private cloud. Microsoft Teams was integrated to centralize communication, telephony and file management via SharePoint. Inetum provided comprehensive support, including a detailed roadmap, workshops, rigorous technical monitoring and the flexibility to adjust the project along the way.

Thanks to this migration, completed in just one year, Pajottegem has succeeded in unifying its digital systems and simplifying file management, facilitating internal collaboration and boosting service efficiency. Citizens now benefit from a centralized telephone reception and a more customer-oriented service. This transformation has also laid the foundations for a stable, secure and scalable infrastructure, enabling Pajottegem to meet future challenges, particularly in terms of cybersecurity and simplification of network architecture.
