Gfi Spain raises the debate about the use of the ITIL and DevOps methodologies

Today, takes place the 6th dissemination session organized by itSMF Spain in cooperation with the University of Seville. For this year, the main thematic of the event was “An integrated model of Governance and IT Management. New models and reference frameworks”. Gfi has been present during this innovation day in the Technical School of IT Engineering of Seville with a presentation based on the ITIL and DevOps methodologies intended to the sector of the information technology in order to raise the debate of his application in the process of digital transformation.

Gfi has been present during this innovation day in the Technical School of IT Engineering of Seville with a presentation based on the ITIL and DevOps methodologies intended to the sector of the information technology in order to raise the debate of his application in the process of digital transformation.

Antonio Cortés, Operation Manager of Infrastructure Services in Gfi Spain has given the presentation “ITIL and DevOps, real adversaries?”, he has spoken about the application of new models and the implementation of different strategies to improve the quality and the efficiency of the delivery and the management of the IT services.

According to Antonio Cortés, “the evolution of the control and the management of the IT depends on the simplification of the processes and on the agility of the organization in the working areas. The collection of good practices ITIL maintains the robustness of his structure, but the new models provide to the organization alternatives which can create a solution more functional, quick and complete”.

During the presentation, Gfi has also speak about the difficulty of big companies which use ITIL to change their system of IT management, as well as “the possibility to make organizational change to move from the ITIL silos to the DevOps cells”. The option of the utilization of both ITIL and DevOps combined the good practices of each model to optimize the results and obtain the better performance in IT departments.
