Mission

The Data Governance Specialist must be able to understand both the business drivers and needs regarding data, as well as the technical points of Data Management, while establishing a culture of properly managed data and governance.

We develop new data management capabilities & build on our target data architecture step by step.

We contribute to and monitor the data requirements and ensure that they are realized in line with data governance principles and minimum standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the organization’s data management disciplines are running effectively and meet the business’s needs regarding data while developing a data governance culture within the organization
  • Responsible for helping to define and roll out the data governance framework within company as a key enabler of our data transformation: business data dictionary, data quality, data lineage, usage of certified data sources and report metadata are just a few of the capabilities to manage our data in an efficient manner
  • The business will be guided and supported by you to roll out these data governance activities in practice within their domain
  • Focus on facilitating the data governance activities by coaching the business teams and providing best practices
  • Create the bridge between the business teams and the IT teams
  • Help ensure that our data's availability, reliability and quality continue to improve (to this effect, you will work closely with the different business teams and the IT/transformation teams)

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in an economic, analytical or IT discipline, and have a proven first professional experience in Business Analysis, Data Governance or Data Management in Banking Industry
  • Passionate about data flows & business data models, eager to learn, and want to grow as an expert in this field and you can promote this passion throughout the organization
  • Have intermediate SQL and database knowledge such us: joins, aggregate functions, dimensions and measures
  • You like to think along at a strategic level, and simultaneously you understand the art of translating conceptual frameworks into concrete processes, procedures and systems
  • Have planning and organizing skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
  • Connect easily with others and can build good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, gaining their trust as an advisor. Not only do others listen to you when you give advice based on your expertise, but you are also able to convince them of the importance of your point so that they will apply it
  • Colleagues value you as a worthwhile team player with a positive attitude who embraces change
